About Us | The Shyne School – Toddler & Preschool Programs in Woodinville, WA

The Shyne School is in Woodinville, Washington; about one mile North of Redmond city limits, on Avondale Road. We specialize in licensed play based educational programs for children ages 1 to 6 years old. Parents have the flexibility to choose from three different daily schedules for toddlers through Pre-Kindergarten. The school offers care for school children up to 6 years old during school holidays.

We feel that working with parents is especially important. 

• We let parents know what is happening at school by talking with parents at drop off and pick up 
• Through messages on the ProCare Parent Engagement App, sending pictures (2 to 3 a week)
• Accident and incident reports when needed
• Communication notebook (calendar) so parents can let us know of changes for their child’s schedule/vacation/pick up. 
• We ask parents to arrive by 9:20 AM 

Parents are emailed weekly lesson plans, bi-weekly menus and a school newsletter every other month. Teachers post their Lesson Plans so parents can see what is happening in their classroom and ask their children specific questions about their day.

Teachers document each childs learning and set up times to meet with parents for conferences once to twice a year or upon request. We use the WA State Developmental Learning Guidelines in the ProCare app for assessments sent to parents. We are here to help and encourage parents to use us as a resource!

We host annual center events that continue to build community. 

• Fall, we host a Curriculum Night and offer parent conferences. 
• Fall Festival in the evening as a family event. 
• School Photo's: Individal photos in fall, class photos  in spring. 
• December we have a Coffee and Juice Bar for families. 
• Spring we have classroom events to celebrate Valentines, St. Patrick’s Day, Purim, Holi and Easter. 
• End of the year, Pre-K Graduation and school picnic. 
• Preschool teahers organize field trips on Saturday/Sunday and invites all students.
• Parent Nights Out, evening care and fun for students at an additional charge.

As a school we also reach out to help the community. In the Fall, just before winter break, we do a giving tree and food drive for the local YWCA Transitional Housing Program in Redmond.
